Hey Steve.
You have so many good people who care about you.
I was in a very dark place not that long ago.
You gave me some very good advice.
You said to not worry about getting back to work. Worry about getting better for the rest of your life so you can be healthy and enjoy the golden years with your family.
That resonated with me and I remembered your advice often.
My unsolicited advice to you…
Minimize your life.
Live within your means.
Love what you have.
I sold my house and lots of things I thought I needed.
Got out of the lower mainland and simplified my life.
I lived in my travel trailer for 10 months.
It made me realize how little I need.
The counselling I got from WCB was a joke.
My closest friends helped me the most.
Again, you have so many good people that know you.
Lean on them.
I’m not a religious guy, so I don’t really pray for people but you are in my thoughts and I am wishing you the best and hope you find peace and happiness.
Thank you for the advice you gave me.
It made a difference.
Please consider the few words I share with you.

Steve,

I just want to tell you how damn proud I am of you. It takes an incredible amount of strength to take a knee and ask for help and you’ve done it with courage and honesty. That’s something only the truly brave can do.

You’ve always been someone people look up to, not just for what you’ve achieved, but for the way you carry yourself with heart and integrity. This next chapter is about healing, and I know without a doubt you’ve got the grit and soul to come out of this even stronger.

You’re not alone in this, we all have your back every step of the way.

Take care,
Mike Vincent
